Gregg Berhalter calls 26 for United States national team friendlies

It is certainly an intriguing roster for the United States national team ahead of friendlies at the end of the month against Jamaica and Northern Ireland.

A total of 26 players were called into camp by head coach Gregg Berhalter as the continued work of molding and shaping the roster ahead of World Cup qualifiers continues to take place. It is a youthful squad and one absent several prominent players such as Weston McKennie, who has been a regular starter during his first season with Juventus.

Due to quarantine and travel issues ahead of the start of the MLS season, only three domestic players -defender Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls), midfielder Kellyn Acosta (Colorado Rapids) and midfielder Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy) – were called for the friendlies.

The 33-year old Tim Ream the most senior player on the roster in terms of both age and caps.

Both friendlies will be held in Europe, beginning with a match against Jamaica in Austria on March 25. Then on March 28, the Americans will travel to Northern Ireland for the second and final match of the FIFA window.
