United States names roster for Olympic qualifying training camp

The United States is one step closer to piecing together their Olympic qualifying roster with the announcement on Monday of the training camp roster.

The training camp roster has a heavy domestic lean, with 26 of the 31 named players hailing from MLS. Qualification for CONCACAF Olympic qualifying in mid-March. The United States is hoping to return to the Olympics for the first time since 2000.

The finalists to emerge from qualifying will make the Olympics. This is the deepest qualifying roster ever for the United States with 15 players having made at least one appearance for the senior national team. The Olympics are an U23 affair featuring three overage players.

Qualifying, however, is entirely U23.
