Jeremy Ebobisse is attracting attention from Europe, the Portland Timbers striker capturing the attention of two Champions League sides. The interest from one club is nothing new but a new potential landing spot is emerging.

A source close to the situation tells FanSided’s MLS Multiplex that Anderlecht in Belgium as well as Malmo in Sweden are trailing the American international. A season ago in 18 games (11 starts), Ebobisse had eight goals and two assists.

In four seasons spanning 75 games (43 starts) he has 22 goals and eight starts. In 2019, he had a career-high 11 goals.

The linking with Anderlecht, the largest and most prestigious club in Europe, “appears sustained and strong” according to a second source. This is not the first time that the Timbers star has been linked to the club, which currently boasts former MLS players Kemar Lawrence, Matt Miazga and Michael Amir Murillo. Reports had indicated that Anderlecht had interest in Ebobisse dating back to last year.

The source said that no offer has been forthcoming from either Anderlecht or Malmo although the interest in the player remains.

In addition to his first cap with the United States, Ebobisse received in a friendly last year, the star striker has figured prominently with the U20 United States national team. He recently turned 24-years old.

The interest from Malmo, unlike Anderlecht’s trailing, is relatively new. Last season, the club topped the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top flite.
