January 24th, 2021

FC Shkupi sign centre-back Abdul Rwatubyaye from Colorado Rapids on a free transfer. 24-year Rwatubyaye only made two MLS appearances after joining Sporting KC in 2019.

C.S Cartagines sign centre-back Seattle Sounders Centre-back Roman Torres of a free transfer. Captain for the Panama National Team, Torres made 69 appearances across two stints with Seattle Sounders and five with Inter Miami.

January 25th, 2021

New York Red Bulls sign midfielder Wikelman Carmona from Dynamo Margarita for an undisclosed fee. An astute signing from New York. Wikelman is a 17-year old Venezuelan midfielder who impressed while training with Atletico Madrid in 2017.

Atlanta United sign Racing Club striker Lisandro Lopez on a free transfer. Best known for replacing Karim Benzema at Lyon following the Frenchmans move to Real Madrid, which should speak volumes about his age. Atlanta will be the 37-year olds seventh club. Carmona impressed at the South American U-17 Championships, scoring a highlight goal.

January 26th, 2021

Inter Miami sign midfielder Edison Azcona to a Homegrown contract. Already part of the Dominican National Senior Team set-up, Azcona has also made 16 appearances for USL affiliate, Fort Lauderdale FC.

Vancouver Whitecaps sign winger Deiber Caicedo from Deportivo Cali for $2.5M. Capable of playing on both flanks, Caicedo registered seven goals and 16 assists since joining the Deportivo first-team in 2018.

Inter Miami sign centre-back Ian Fray to a Homegrown contract. The 18-year old made his USL debut in 2020, making nine appearances.

ADO Den Hag sign winger Youness Mokhtar from Columbus Crew on a free transfer. Mokhtar, a Netherlands native, returns to his home country following 29 appearances and an MLS Cup.

Al-Hilal Club signs right back Alvas Powell from Inter Miami on a free transfer. Powell’s MLS career stalled after being traded to FC Cincinnati before the 2019 season. Following the season, Powell was selected by Miami second overall in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft, only making five appearances in a second consecutive inaugural season.

Inter Miami sign goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira from Fort Lauderdale FC on a free transfer. The Columbia University alumni (sick brag Dylan) has 43 appearances across three teams in the USL since 2018.

New York Red Bulls take right-back, Tom Edwards, on loan from Stoke City. Having lost out on the right-back spot during Stoke’s 2019-2020 campaign, Edwards was sent on loan to Fleetwood Town in League One in October.

Despite featuring as a regular since his arrival, injuries and sacking of Manager Joey Barton convinced Stoke to recall him.

Houston Dynamo sign goalkeeper Kyle Morton from St. Louis FC on a free transfer.

January 28th, 2021

Nashville SC loan winger David Accam to Hammarby IF with an option to buy. After bursting onto the scene with Chicago Fire and impressing during his three seasons, Accam has seen a sharp decline in form since his departure. After registering 33 goals and 10 assists through 78 appearances with Chicago, Accam’s production would dip to eight goals and three assists through his next 53 appearances with Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew, and Nashville SC.

Minnesota United acquire left-back Jukka Raitala from CF Montreal in exchange for Andrew Booth and conditional General Allocation Money. Booth was selected 96th overall in the 2020 MLS draft and has yet to make an MLS appearance. Meanwhile, Raitala has made 97.

Columbus Crew sign midfielder Perry Kitchen from LA Galaxy on a free transfer. Well-traveled Kitchens will bolster the defending Champions midfield. Still, in his prime at 28, the midfielder has over 118 MLS appearances with an additional 47 overseas.

Vancouver Whitecaps signs goalkeeper Evan Newton from Indy Eleven on a free transfer. The 32-year old will be looking for his MLS debut following seven years playing in the USL and stints with Houston Dynamo and NYFC.

Seattle Sounders sign midfielder Kelyn Rowe on a free transfer from New England Revolution. Since leaving New England for the first time in 2018, Rowe has featured for five different teams. Hopefully, the Washington-native finds some stability with Seattle.
