FC Dallas is sending six of their young talents to train with Bayern Munich
The impressive talent FC Dallas continues to develop has led to more exposure on the international stage. With players such as Weston McKennie and Reggie Cannon finding success in Europe, the club has certainly put themselves on the map as one of Major League Soccer’s best clubs for developing top-level talent. Current Dallas player Bryan Reyolds appears to be headed to a top league in the near future as well based on recent reports. Now, Dallas will be sending six players to Germany to train with defending UEFA Champions League winners Bayern Munich.
Training with one of the world’s top clubs
It will be a three week training period for the six players heading to train with Bayern. The six players are Ricardo Pepi, Justin Che, Thomas Roberts, Brandon Servania, Edwin Cerillo, and Dante Sealy. Most of these young players have already made their MLS debuts or have featured for the North Texas Soccer Club in USL League One. All six players are under the age of 21 and represent the bright future Dallas has.

Bayern has already signed a Dallas academy product in their history as Chris Richards joined the Bundesliga club in 2018. Richards has gone on to make appearances for Bayern’s senior team in the Bundesliga and Champions League. Already this season the 20-year-old has made 11 appearances for Bayern and registered two assists.
Alphonso Davies has been Bayern’s highest-profile MLS signing to date. The Canadian left-back has been a top performer for the club since arriving from the Vancouver Whitecaps. He has gone on to win many trophies during his time with Bayern. There’s no question he has been one of the most successful players to come out of an MLS academy in the history of the league.
Will any of these players sign for Bayern?
There’s the potential that a few of these players could be on the radar of Bayern in the near future. Pepi is a player who has done very well for a 17-year-old striker in MLS. He scored a massive goal for Dallas in the MLS Cup playoffs against the Portland Timbers that allowed the Western Conference club to advance to the conference semifinals. Pepi’s teammates Dante Sealy and Justin Che are two other young players who could be scouted further as they continue on in the early stages of their career in MLS.
It’s very unlikely all six of these players will be signed by Bayern but training with the top club in the Bundesliga could attract attention from other clubs in the German top flight. Other doors might be opened for additional opportunities down the road to train and be scouted by other clubs in Germany. Overall, this is a great sign for the MLS as opportunities continue to come for the young players in the league to showcase their talent for top clubs.
