What next for LA Galaxy with Cristian Pavon set to leave?

LA Galaxy need to find an adequate replacement for Cristian Pavon
LA Galaxy are no strangers to attracting big names, David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Javier Hernandez are the only examples you need. They have an important post-season ahead of them and the evidence is there that they need to strengthen their roster.
Dominic Kinnear’s side had a poor last year and need to get in the play-offs in 2021. However, they have been dealt a big blow ahead of next season with key player Cristian Pavon set to return to Boca Juniors. He has been impressive in MLS since his move to LA on loan but he now looks poised for a return to Argentina.
The Galaxy have an option to purchase him as part of his loan deal from Boca but are believed to be unwilling to fork out the money need to land him on a permanent basis. His looming departure will be a sucker-punch to LA and their fans.
Pavon has been a shining light for them during a tough past year or so. He has made 35 appearances for the MLS outfit altogether and has chipped in with 14 goals and nine assists, making him their key creator of goals and opportunities.
Pavon would leave a big void in LA Galaxy’s ranks. However, on the positive side of things, it would also give them a clean slate and an opportunity to weigh up who to bring in as a replacement. Funds could be freed up to bring in a quality replacement over the coming weeks and months.
The 2021 campaign is a big one for Kinnear’s men and they need to start competing at the top end of the Western Conference. But with Pavon on his way out, their chances aren’t looking great at the minute unless they bring players in.
