Josh Sargent and Tim Weah both registered goals in mid-week action.

The recent run of good from Tim Weah has continued as the Lille player scored against Montpellier in a 3-2 victory. Weah registered the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute as both clubs would exchange goals throughout the match with Burak Yilmaz scoring an 86th-minute winner for Lille. This goal was Weah’s third in his last five appearances and his second goal of the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season. It was a great result for the 20-year-old USMNT player as he made his first appearance this season in Lille’s starting 11 in a Ligue 1 fixture.

Elsewhere, Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent scored against Hannover in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Sargent registered his goal in the 32nd minute to help Bremen earn a 3-0 victory to advance to the next round of the cup competition. The USMNT striker was named the Man of the Match for his performance. Two of Sargent’s three goals for Bremen this season have come in the DFB-Pokal.
