Boca Juniors have asked LA Galaxy loan star Cristian Pavon to come back on 1st January
Boca Juniors have asked LA Galaxy starlet Cristian Pavon to come back. The Argentinian giants want him to return to their squad and have recalled him back for training, as reported by TyC Sports. The Galaxy have an option to purchase him on a permanent basis but are currently mulling over a move, leaving the door open for him to go back to his parent club.
Boca wants €20 million but Dominic Kinnear’s are currently not prepared to meet that price tag. However, they are still keen on signing him and are hopeful of reaching an agreement to keep him beyond the New Year. This is a story that could go down to the wire after Christmas.
Pavon, who is 24 years old, has been LA Galaxy’s key player since August 2019. He has made 35 appearances for the MLS outfit altogether and has chipped in with 14 goals and nine assists. His leaving would leave a massive gap in their roster for next season and they would find it hard to replace him with someone who would have the same influence.
Many thought Pavon’s time at Boca was over when he made the move to America but he could be thrown a lifeline by them over the coming weeks. He joined the Argentinian champions in July 2014 having previously spent his career to date on the books at Club Atletico Talleres.
They initially loaned him out to Colon before he went on to bag 29 goals in 118 games before his move to Los Angeles. LA Galaxy fans will be praying that Pavon re-joins them for the 2021 season but their chances of striking another agreement with Boca are up in the air at the moment.
