Inter Miami’s Lewis Morgan on radar of English duo

Inter Miami’s Lewis Morgan is on the radar of Sheffield United and Reading. The English duo are keen on signing the winger in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Morgan, who is 24 years old, signed for Miami in January and has since scored five goals in 25 games for the MLS side. He penned a three-year deal with the Herons so still has a couple of years left to run on his contract. However, he has interest from clubs closer to home now and the report suggests he could be available for around £2 million.

The pacey wide man started his career in his native Scotland at St Mirren but was snapped up by current champions Celtic in 2018. He struggled to break into the Hoops’ first-team and was loaned back out to St Mirren and League One outfit Sunderland before they decided to sell him on a permanent basis to Miami.

Morgan has adapted well to life in America and has established himself as a key player for Diego Alonso’s men. However, they could face losing him in the near future. Sheffield United are battling against relegation in the Premier League and are winless in their opening 14 games of the campaign. Chris Wilder’s side will be in the hunt for some new signings this winter to boost their attacking options to try and perform a great escape.

Reading, on the other, are in the Championship and are looking to gain promotion from the second tier this season. The Royals are sat in 8th in the league and are a single point outside the Play-Off positions. They are managed by ex-Chicago Fire boss Velijko Paunovic and could battle with Sheffield United for Morgan’s signature next month.
