Inter Miami are interested in Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud

Inter Miami are interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud. The MLS side are considering a move to lure the Frenchman away from England, as reported by Eurosport. It is expected to be a busy post-season for the Herons and they could look to sharpen their attacking options for the 2021 season.

Giroud, who is 34 years old, will have to weigh up his next move after Chelsea. A move to America isn’t beyond the realms of possibility for him and the chance to reunion France teammate Blaise Matuidi in Miami could turn his head this winter. He may also have interest from clubs in Europe though.

The forward has made 14 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions so far this season and has chipped in with eight goals. However, he is not a guaranteed starter for Frank Lampard‘s side and is being linked with a move away from London. His contract with the Premier League outfit also expires in June 2021 at the end of the current campaign.

Giroud has been with the Blues since January 2018 and has since bagged 36 goals. He had previously played for their rivals Arsenal, where he had won the FA Cup three times. Before his move to England, the 6ft 4inc attacker had spells in France at Grenoble, Tours, and Montpellier. Miami are in need of some more quality players and luring Giroud to America would be a huge statement of intent.
