Inter Miami want to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero

Inter Miami are interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero. Their co-owner David Beckham wants to use his contacts at Old Trafford to lure the experienced stopper to Major League Soccer this winter, according to a report by The Athletic.

Miami are in the hunt for a new number one for next year and have identified the Argentina international as the man they want. They are exploring a potential deal to acquire him but are likely to face some competition from Europe.

Romero, who is 33 years old, has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and may be allowed to leave in the upcoming January transfer window if a deal is right. He has always acted as the back-up option to David de Gea during his time in Manchester but is now their third choice with Dean Henderson being ahead of him these days.

He signed for the Red Devils in 2015 and has been with them for the past five seasons, helping them win the FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield, and Europa League during his time at the club. However, his spell in the North-West of England could come to an end next month.

The ex-Racing Club, AZ, Sampdoria, and Monaco man is on the radar of Miami and they will be eager to see if they can sign him this summer. It will be interesting to see if his ex-Argentina teammate Gonzalo Higuain can persuade him to join the Herons.
