New faces emerge

While some of the players on this roster could make their first-ever appearances for the senior team, they have been grabbing headlines already this year. Players such as Reyna, Richards, and de la Fuente have been highly praised for their involvement with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Reyna’s long-awaited appearance for the USMNT has been coming now for a while as the Dortmund player has been doing very well playing in Germany.

Aside from the aforementioned players, there are an additional seven players who could make their first appearances for the senior team.

The seven players are Cardoso, Gioacchini, Ledezma, Musah, Odunze, Otasowie, and Soto. With two matches being played during the November schedule, there will be opportunities for these players to get their first appearance for the USMNT at the senior level.

The usuals

Gregg Berhalter called up the usual standouts for the USMNT as Pulisic, McKennie, Dest, Adams, and Steffen were all named to the team. These players have not played with each other in quite some time as the USMNT has not played a match since November of 2019. For this reason, their leadership will be crucial as the chemistry on the team may not be at it’s best with the long absence from international duty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be called upon to lead the way during the matches.

All but five players are under the age of 23. It is a very young roster but it will be very exciting to see the future of the USMNT on full display. Many of these players are still making a name for themselves in Europe and are very much still developing in their respective careers. The friendly matches will give a glimpse of what to expect from the future of the USMNT.
