Another week, another game to add to the Lions unbeaten run. Orlando City have now gone nine games without a loss, thanks to a solid victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening, which also elevated them in the Eastern Conference table.

A first-half goal from Daryl Dike, along with second-half strikes from Junior Urso and Antonio Carlos, helped the Lions to a 3-1 victory over the Red Bulls, who had Florian Valot on the scoresheet in reply.

Nine games unbeaten and now into the top three in the Eastern Conference, the Lions are well on their way to a first-ever post-season appearance. They face Atlanta and Columbus this week, and Orlando will be hoping to close the gap on the latter at the top of the table.

MLS Power Rankings: 4. Seattle Sounders (=)

Staying in the No.4 spot this week following a comfortable victory over a Cascadian Cup rival are the Seattle Sounders, who have extended their lead at the top of the Western Conference with the three points they earned.

After a goalless first half, the Sounders scored three times in the opening 15 minutes of the second period. Joao Paulo and Raul Ruidiaz got on the scoresheet, along with an own goal from Vancouver’s Erik Godoy, helped Seattle to a 3-1 win.

With the victory, the reigning MLS Cup champions take a three-point lead at the top of the Western Conference and are now just four points off the top of the Supporters’ Shield standings lead. They face Real Salt Lake and LAFC this week and could go top of the table if results go their way.
