Christian Pulisic could be back for Chelsea as the Premier League season kicks off.
The 2020/21 Premier League season is set to kick off this weekend. Christian Pulisic will headline the United States Men’s National Team players that could feature for their clubs. The Chelsea player had been out with a hamstring injury he sustained during the FA Cup final against Arsenal. It now appears he may be a selection in Chelsea’s squad for their opening fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.
A new and improved Chelsea
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was optimistic about the outlook for Pulisic to return to Chelsea’s line-up ahead of the match. The American midfielder and teammate Cesar Azpilicueta were two players he highlighted as being pleased to see returning to training.
"“I am very happy to welcome them both back. Yesterday was their first day fully training with the team, so they’re in contention for Monday.”"
Pulisic is coming off of a fantastic performance in the last half of the season for Chelsea. He registered five goals and two assists when the 2019/20 season resumed in June. As a result, Pulisic was a regular selection for Lampard in Chelsea’s matchday squad.

After finishing in fourth place in the Premier Leauge, Chelsea appears ready to make a bid for an even higher finish in the table this season. They spent big in the transfer window and have brought in a host of talented players. Pulisic will be part of one of the more talented Chelsea teams in recent years.
The upcoming match on Monday against Brighton & Hove Albion will be the first look at the new and improved Chelsea. For this reason, it will be one of the more attractive fixtures of the first matchday. It will be a must-watch match to see how Pulisic does alongside new teammates such as Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
Fulham’s Robinson and Ream begin the season
Fulham are back in the Premier Leauge as they achieved promotion after a one-year hiatus from the top flight. There will be two USMNT players that will feature for Fulham during the upcoming season. Defenders Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson should make numerous appearances for their club over the course of the campaign.
There’s a possibility both could play against Arsenal in their opening match. Ream has been a regular player for Fulham on their backline as the veteran center back has been with the club for five years. Robinson was a recent arrival in the transfer window and would make his debut for the club in this fixture if he is called upon.
The two aforementioned matches will be ones to watch this weekend as the USMNT players begin their season. It could be a big season ahead for them and will offer opportunities to further impress national team manager Gregg Berhalter.
