Brenden Aaronson helped lift the Philadelphia Union to another victory

The incredible breakout year for Brenden Aaronson is continuing. This time he produced a wonder strike against the New York Red Bulls in a 3-0 victory for the Philadelphia Union against their Eastern Conference opponents. It was one of the best goals the young American attacking midfielder has scored in his Major League Soccer career.

Aaronson’s goal was the highlight of a dominant performance from the Union. The other goals came from Kacper Przybylko and Matthew Real. With the victory, the Union moves into second place in the Eastern Conference table.

Here are three things we learned from the Union’s win.

Aaronson continues to display his talent on Philadelphia Union

The Union’s young sensation has cemented himself as one of the best young players the MLS currently has. With rumors of a possible exit to Europe looming, the 19-year-old has not shown any signs of slowing down when it comes to being impactful for the Union. His goal against the Red Bulls displayed why he is being sought after by big clubs in top leagues.

More from MLS Multiplex

It remains to be seen if Aaronson will stay with the Union for the rest of the season. If he does then the club will remain one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference title and reach the MLS Cup final. He’s a key piece of the Union’s attacking unit and is going to be a huge player for them for the rest of the season.

Przybylko keeps scoring

The last four matches have been Przybylko’s best run of form so far in the 2020 season. With four goals in his last four appearances, the Polish striker has been unstoppable as of late. The Union have won all three matches he’s scored in during this great display of goal-scoring ability.

Much like the aforementioned Aaronson, Przbylko is going to be a key player for the Union’s success moving forward this year. After his breakthrough season in 2019, the striker is poised to have another big year.

The Red Bulls drop more points

It was another tough match for the Red Bulls. After parting ways with manager Chris Armas this week, they were unable to find the win column in their first match under Bradley Carnell. The defeat is their third since returning to MLS regular season play.

Despite the lopsided loss to the Union, there is still hope the Red Bulls can at least reach the postseason. They will enter this week in ninth place which would see them through to the playoffs. However, with 13 matches remaining in the campaign they could still lose out on a playoff appearance if they continue to struggle to find the back of the net in 2020.

Carnell has a tough task ahead of getting the Red Bulls to the postseason. The four clubs currently out of the playoff spots are all within reasonable reach of catching the Red Bulls and ending their hopes. Their upcoming match against DC United will be very crucial for Carnell to ease the recent loss of points with a victory.
