MLS Power Rankings: 12. San Jose Earthquakes (-1)

The Earthquakes were one of two sides not to play this week but kept hold of their place in the top seven in the West. They will do battle with Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy this week, with the chance of climbing above the latter with a win on Wednesday.

This Week’s Fixtures: vs Portland Timbers (Wednesday 26, 10:30 pm ET), @ LA Galaxy (Saturday 29, 10:30 pm ET)

MLS Power Rankings: 11. New England Revolution (-1)

The Revolution took a point from their clash with Philadelphia Union at the weekend, with the match ending scoreless. Mainly thanks to the efforts of goalkeeper Matt Turner, who was their standout performer.

The shot-stopper made five saves in the match to keep the Union at bay, with the match finishing 0-0. Gustavo Bou had the Rev’s best chance of the match but was unable to put the ball in the back of the net.

With the point, New England now sits in 9th in the Eastern Conference, level on points with Montreal who occupy the final playoff berth following the weekend. They face D.C. United and New York Red Bulls this week, with the aim to overcome the Bulls in the table.

MLS Power Rankings: 10. Philadelphia Union (-2)

The Union ran out to their third draw in six matches, after a scoreless match with the New England Revolution at the weekend. Having scored three times against LAFC prior to the suspension of the season due to COVID-19, the Union failed to score once again.

Philadelphia had 11 shots in the match, with the five of those on target. Revolution shot-stopper Matt Turner was at his best, keeping a clean sheet, and denying the Union the chance of all three points.

Despite failing to grab the victory, Philly remains inside the top four in the Eastern Conference but are now seven points behind Columbus Crew, who sit top of the table. They face 3rd placed New York Red Bulls and 10th placed D.C. United this week, aiming to get a full six points to close the gap.
