Orlando City Vs Montreal Impact: 3 things we learned – Orlando moves on
By Harvey Cruz
2. Montreal lacked initiative
The decision to leave Maxi Urruti out of the starting lineup was questionable. The Montreal Impact lacked bite in attack from the start. The Argentine came on in the 87th minute with his side 1-0 down, Many will wonder why he didn’t come on sooner.

That decision showcased the inexperience Thierry Henry is going through and highlighted the lack of ingenuity his team displayed in this game. There was little attacking intent from his team in a straight-knockout contest. Orlando failed to convert excellent chances and dominated Henry’s team, who rarely looked dangerous pushing forward. That is criminal, and, in the end, the 1-0 scoreline flattered them.
None of the Impact’s key attackers had a good game. Bojan Krkic started up top and was substituted without recording a shot, Saphir Taider was quiet all night, while Romell Quioto was never able to get in behind. As a team, they mustered just one shot on target.
It’s hard to win in this league. It is even harder to do so without having some control in midfield and attacking impetus. Montreal’s inability to impose their will on opponents will halt their progression under Henry.
