1. Guillermo Barros Schelotto on the hot seat

Despite making the postseason last year and getting decent performances from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it has not been all sunshine and rainbows for LA Galaxy manager, Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

The 5-3 loss in the playoffs to LAFC was piled on by a 6-2 demolition job a few days ago. Such disparity between the two LA teams does not reflect well on his coaching. They are now all but out of the competition without a massive swing in goal difference. No Chicharito will hurt their chances and don’t expect Sebastian Lleget to pull up any trees as Cristian Pavon’s strike partner. Sacha Kljestan, who was on the bench against LAFC, will need to start in order to create chances from the outset.

The biggest problem is their backline. They have already conceded 10 goals, the second-worst figure in all of MLS. They have one point all season, which was against Houston on the opening weekend. Only Nashville and Inter Miami have fewer points.

All of this obviously doesn’t bode well for Schelotto, whose club is second-bottom in the Western Conference and is struggling to find answers. Should things continue to trend downwards, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Schelotto is sacked before the regular season finishes.
