1. Winner stays, loser goes home

In essence, this has the feel of an elimination match. This is the Seattle Souders’ last group match. They have one point and must, you would feel, reach the four-point mark to secure one of the top-four third-place finishes.

Meanwhile, the Vancouver Whitecaps may have two more games remaining, they are yet to earn a point and with another loss could only reach three points in total. Both teams are looking up at San Jose and Chicago who have four and three points respectively and face off in a battle for the top spot on Saturday night.

The margin for error, then, is slim to none for either to get a result. Vancouver could technically still qualify with a loss, should they then beat the Fire in their final match. That, though, would require the Fire losing to San Jose, which is far from a given.

It has also been a while since Vancouver has defeated Seattle. You can bet that these Cascadia rivals would like nothing more than to eliminate one another from the tournament.
