1. Diego Rossi the hero

There won’t be many four-goal individual performances in this tournament. Diego Rossi’s display was nothing other than spectacular. From his calm and cool penalty in the first half to his tap-in goal in second-half stoppage time, he was incredible.

Without the true star players in the lineup for either club, a hero needed to emerge. Rossi answered the call and etched his name in the history books of this rivalry. There won’t be many more memorable performances than his here.

Rossi and his fellow countryman Brian Rodriguez are beginning to form a dangerous attacking duo. It has helped alleviate the absence of league MVP, Carlos Vela, in this tournament. If they can continue to deliver, LAFC have to be taken seriously as a possible winner of MLS is Back. With Bradley Wright-Phillips in great form, too, they have arguably the best front three in the league.

How long Rossi remains in MLS remains to be seen. Certainly, Europe will come calling very soon. But for now, just sit back and enjoy, because, when in this form, he is a joy to watch.
