2. Heber must find his footing

New York City FC have a scoring problem. In their last four MLS games, they only managed to score one goal. For a team with as much attacking firepower that NYCFC has, it is a crime that they haven’t been able to put it together in the final third. And against Inter Miami specifically, striker Heber will need to have a huge game.

More from MLS Multiplex

The 28-year-old is perhaps one of the more underrated players in MLS. With his positional awareness, sweet right foot, and deceptive quickness, it’s arguable that the Brazilian should have at least three or more goals in this tournament.

He is clinical when in front of goal, possesses terrific movement off the ball, and he comes alive in the penalty area. Given the creative players around him, including Jesus Medina, Valentin Castellanos. Maxi Moralez and Alexandru Mitrita, although the latter pair missed the last match through injury, Heber will hope to find rhythm and disrupt Inter Miami’s cohesiveness.

With Miami’s shaky defensive line (crippled even more due to Andres Reyes’ red card in the 97th minute against the Union), NYCFC will have a chance to create chances. Can Heber — and the rest of the NYCFC attack — take advantage and finally get on the scoresheet?
