2. The one-two Gustavo Bou and Carles Gil punch
From last season onwards, something has been brewing in New England. Gustavo Bou had to work his way towards finding a groove, and did so emphatically with his winning goal against Montreal. On the other hand, Carles Gil proved his class becoming the 2019 MLS Newcomer of the Year.

Last season, Gil provided 10 goals and 12 assists. Only Michael Barrios provided more assists, while only Carlos Vela provided double-digits in both goals and assists. Meanwhile, Bou scored nine goals and added one assist in just 1,152 minutes.
The pair have suddenly become one of the more dynamic and devastating duos in all of MLS. Gil’s 12 chances created against Thierry Henry’s men make him the creative focal point of the team, while Bou can create and score himself. Bou’s finish was ruthless, lashing home from the edge of the area. It was a sign of his clinical finishing when handed opportunities to shoot.
Add in the support of a Cristian Penilla, Kelyn Rowe, Teal Bunbury and Adam Buska, the newly signed Designated Player who’s movement off the ball looks like a true number nine who can add a real goal threat, and the Revs boast enough firepower to hang in any game.
