1. Errors, errors, and more errors

While Inter Miami’s performance improved from the loss against Orlando City, there is still a mountain of work to be done. There are a number of glaring issues that Inter Miami is facing, particularly with the midfield.

The central midfield pairing of Victor Ulloa and Wil Trapp simply does not work. Inter Miami GM Paul McDonough has said that the club will be going after not only a DP attacking player but also a number eight.

Trapp showed his defensive vulnerability on Tuesday, letting the game pass him by as he was slow to recover his position. The team also suffered from poor finishing. Despite ending the match with 10 shots and 10 chances created, Miami lost due to lack of conviction in front of goal.

If Inter Miami want to be the club that challenges for trophies straight away, not only do they need to desperately bring in an eight and a number nine, manager Diego Alonso also needs to stress the importance of cleaning up mistakes and taking their chances.
