1. Wright-Phillips, Rodriguez get their goals

Both Bradley Wright-Phillips and Brian Rodriguez scored their first Major League Soccer goals for LAFC on Monday night. They were massive moments for the pair, who have either struggled with confidence in front of goal or are looking to bed into a new team.

With Carlos Vela unavailable during the tournament, the club is going to have to find other players to turn to for goal production. Wright-Phillips appears poised to aid in any way he can to ensure the goals keep coming. This shouldn’t be the last time his name appears on the scoresheet in this tournament. He fits into LAFC’s system very well with superb movement off the ball. With plentiful service, he will score plenty from inside the box.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, finally showed some composure in front of goal to slide his finish into the bottom corner and level the score. The 20-year-old Uruguayan international could be a breakout player in this tournament, and not only for LAFC but in the league as a whole.
