By Matt Coles
3. Heber
Another man who has not spent long in Major League Soccer is New York City FC’s main striker, and one of three players that scored double-digit goals for the club in 2019, Heber.
The Brazilian striker had a lengthy career before making the move to the United States, playing in his native country before spells in both Armenia and Croatia, where he scored 25 times in 38 league games for Rijeka, along with playing for the club in the UEFA Europa League.

Heber joined New York City FC prior to the start of the 2019 season, and there was instant success, as the Brazilian scored goals at some rate, behind only the elite in the league, such as Carlos Vela, Josef Martinez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic last year.
He bagged 15 times in just 22 league games, with only 18 of those being starts. The Brazilian hit braces in both matches against Eastern Conference rivals FC Cincinnati, who were in their first season as an expansion side.
Heber did struggle with knocks here and there throughout the season, hence why he was only able to start 18 times, but he will be looking to improve on that going into the resumption of the 2020 campaign at the MLS is Back tournament in Orlando next month, where he will lead the line for the Sky Blues once more.
