By Ivan Ornelas
Full-Backs
RB: Sergino Dest
Age: 18
Starting Rating: 72
Potential: 82
Club: Ajax
Given the option to represent the Netherlands or the United States, Sergino Dest’s commitment ti the USMNT was a huge boost. Though he will face competition for games at Ajax with Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui, Erik ten Hag appears impressed by his development. Who knows how long Dest will stay at Ajax as their best players often get snapped up by bigger clubs, but at present, there are few better places to become a better player than playing at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Potential Player Comparison: João Cancelo (Manchester City/Portugal), Nelson Semedo (Barcelona/Portugal), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United/England)
LB: Antonee Robinson
Age: 21
Starting Rating: 72
Potential: 81
Club: Wigan Athletic
Fabian Johnson’s absence from the national team setup since 2017 has left a hole at left-back that Antonee Robinson has tried to fill. The jury is still out, but FIFA 20 believes he is the best upcoming prospect in this position. Robinson’s Wigan Athletic loan from Everton was made permanent as he wasn’t getting much game time behind Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines and he made some headlines with his links to AC Milan in January. Hopefully more clubs of that size remain interested because the Latics are currently 20th in the EFL Championship this season.
Potential Player Comparisons: Juan Bernat (PSG/Spain), Ben Chilwell (Leicester City/England), Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig/Germany)
