Center-Backs

CB: Cameron Carter-Vickers

Age: 21

Starting Rating: 69

Potential: 81

Club: Luton Town (On loan from Tottenham Hotspur)

Cameron Carter-Vickers’ career appears to be stalling as he appears further away from ever being a part of Tottenham’s first-team plans. The likes of Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters have made that transition, but he remains a loanee at Championship level. Nevertheless, FIFA 20 still believes that he can become a good player, but perhaps a permanent transfer will be needed for him to get some stability.

Potential Player Comparisons: Sebastian Coates (Sporting CP/Uruguay), Kurt Zouma (Chelsea/France), John Stones (Manchester City/England)

CB: James Sands

Age: 18

Starting Rating: 66

Potential: 84

Club: New York City FC

At the moment, the USMNT’s best options at center-back are John Brooks and Aaron Long, both of which are close to reaching their peak already. FIFA 20 believes that James Sands might be the best long-term option, although he also has experience of playing in midfield. He played 19 MLS games in the 2019 season and seems set to be a regular this season when it resumes.

Potential Player Comparison: Kostas Manolas (Napoli/Greece), Felipe (Atlético Madrid/Brazil), Lucas Hernández (Bayern Munich/France)
