MLS: 3 players set to have breakout season in 2020

Matias Pellegrini was one of the first players to sign for Inter Miami over the summer. And on a Young Designated Player contract, he came with quite the expectations.

The young attacker was one of the more sought-after young talents in Argentina’s Primera Division. Positioned as an out-and-out winger, he can also play as a number 10 in behind a centre-forward.
Logging over 20 appearances for Estudiantes between 2018 and 2019, Pellegrini scored his first-ever goal for the club against legendary club Boca Juniors and made several appearances in Copa Libertadores against another legendary side like Gremio.
He is also familiar with the MLS system having played with Atlanta United winger Ezequiel Barco for Argentina’s youth teams. He doesn’t have any goal contributions yet, but he can play anywhere in the final third and is vastly talented. With Inter Miami offering creativity for days, mostly thanks to Rodolfo Pizarro, Pellegrini will have plenty of opportunities to flourish.
