The Australian midfielder moved to the LA Galaxy went on to break records in 2013, scoring the fastest-ever goal in MLS history, scoring just eight seconds into a regular-season clash with the Houston Dynamo. The Red Bulls won the Supporters’ Shield that year and he went on to be named into the MLS Best XI that season after scoring 11 times and assisting on five other goals in 27 appearances in 2013.
Cahill was then nominated to the MLS All-Star side a year later, playing the opening 45 minutes of the All-Star game against Bayern Munich.
