3. James Rodriguez

This one may seem like a pipe dream, but according to several rumors, James Rodriguez could very well be on his way out of Real Madrid.

More from MLS Multiplex

The Colombian international has struggled to find his footing at Los Blancos since making the switch from Monaco in 2014. With murmurs of him possibly permanently leaving Real Madrid, is a switch to MLS in his cards?

If Rodriguez were to come to MLS, more specifically Inter Miami, he would immediately become one of the league’s best players. Alongside Rodolfo Pizarro (who can be deployed as a winger or second striker,) Rodriguez could have free reign to dictate the tempo of the game with his vision, passing range, and playmaking ability.

Although there would be questions about his defensive capabilities, seeing as though Alonso does like to counter-press, Rodriguez’s high work rate and positional awareness could quickly make that a non-issue.

In all likelihood, the Colombian international will remain Europe. He turns 29 in the summer and was productive during his two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich. Nevertheless, if he was to make the jump to MLS, joining Inter Miami wouldn’t be the worse choice.
