MLS: Top 5 CONCACAF players in league history

4. Shalrie Joseph
Coming in at number four on our all-time list of the greatest players from the CONCACAF region is Grenadian defensive midfielder Shalrie Joseph, who enjoyed an 11-year career in the league. Joseph was drafted by the New England Revolution with the 14th overall selection in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft but did not feature for the side until 2003. However, when he did, he became an integral part of the squad for the next nine seasons.
The Grenadian played over 260 regular-season matches for the Revolution and was selected in the MLS Best XI four times over a five-year spell. He scored eight times and assisted eight other goals in 27 matches in 2018, A top-class season from the defensive midfield position. During his time in New England, Joseph won the 2007 U.S. Open Cup, followed by winning the short-lived North American SuperLiga a year later.
After nine and a half years, Joseph moved on, signing for Chivas USA. However, he only spent half a season with the club before signing for the Seattle Sounders. He eventually retired from professional football in 2017 with a total of over 300 appearances. The midfielder scored 41 times and assisted 39 other goals in his 11 years in MLS.
