4. Ignacio Piatti

Coming in at number four on our list is another player to have scored more than 50 goals, former Montreal Impact star Ignacio Piatti. In 2014, Piatti moved to MLS, signing for Montreal Impact. From the moment he stepped onto the pitch, he was brilliant.

He had an immediate impact, scoring four times in six games at the end of the 2014 MLS term. He then went on to feature in at least 26 regular-season matches in each of the next four years. The 2015 campaign started with Montreal reaching the final of the CONCACAF Champions League, with Piatti scoring in the first leg of the final against Club America. The Argentinian earned All-Star nods in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and was also placed into the Best XI in 2016 and 2018 in recognition of his quality performances for the Impact.

He left the club and the league in 2020, signing with San Lorenzo for a second spell, but he leaves the Impact leading in all-time starts, goals, assists and minutes played. Piatti scored 66 goals and assisted 35 others in 135 regular-season matches for the club, along with being the side’s MVP for four straight years from 2015 and 2018.
