2. Jordan Morris

Few American players have been better than Jordan Morris over the past year, irrespective of what position or league they play in.

More from MLS Multiplex

Across his last 33 matches for club and country, Morris has 17 goals and 14 assists. That is elite production for a striker who now looks settled into the wide-left role that Brian Schmetzer has asked him to play in Seattle. And it is a similar position to the one he enjoyed such success with for the USMNT.

In 2019, he made nine starts for the national team and played in 779 minutes. He totalled five goals, six assists. All this after coming off an ACL tear the year before. He was one of the premier American weapons in the year and has started the 2020 season off on fire, scoring three goals with one assist across 302 minutes in all competitions.

Morris is entering the prime of his career, is now an established wide player, but has still maintained that elite goal threat and frightening speed and athleticism. He is the perfect foil for the best American player in history.
