"“Being transparent, I want to be present in my situation and give Dallas my 100 per cent for however long I’m here. But the goal was to be transferred in the summer, and obviously, teams are in a scramble right now because it’s a tough time for transfers at the moment.”"

“I’m aware that players, sometimes they have desires to play in Europe. We wouldn’t like Paxton to go, maybe 2-3 years from now. But he had a great U-20 World Cup and, honestly, at this stage clubs are interested in getting players as young as they can. We hope he can continue here for a while.”

FC Dallas’ young stars, Paxton Pomykal and Reggie Cannon, will be moving to Europe soon. The first quote comes from Cannon, who ceded that the coronavirus has put a halt on his European dreams a little. The second comes from FC Dallas technical director Andre Zanotta in 2019 when asked about how long Pomykal will remain at the club.

Cannon and Pomykal were elite players in MLS in 2018 at 20 and 19 respectively. As they begin to reach their senior primes, a move across the pond both seems inevitable and helpful.
