Dave van den Bergh made the move to MLS in June 2006, where he scored three times in 13 games. Van den Bergh then spent two seasons with New York Red Bulls, playing over 60 times, including six postseason games.
The Dutchman’s final season in Major League Soccer came with FC Dallas, where he scored three times and set up 11 others in 30 regular-season games. His MLS career ended with 102 games, with 16 goals and 26 assists, as he retired following the conclusion of the 2009 campaign.
After retiring, he spent six years as an assistant coach with the United States U20s, before then managing the U15 and U19 sides. In 2019, he became assistant manager at New England Revolution.
