4. Danny Hoesen

The first Dutch player on our list that still currently plays in the American top-flight in San Jose Earthquakes forward Danny Hoesen, who is now into his fourth season with the club.

Hoesen signed for San Jose on loan for the 2017 term, and scored five times in 32 league games, and he did enough to convince the club to sign him on a permanent deal.

The 2018 campaign was Hoesen’s best for San Jose, as he broke double digits. The Dutchman scored twice, along with adding four assists, whilst featuring in all 34 regular-season games. He played in both of the ‘Quakes games before the suspension of the 2020 campaign, and Hoesen has currently played 98 regular-season matches for the club, scoring 22 and assisting 12.
