1. Thierry Henry

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the man to take the top spot on our list of the best-ever Frenchman to grace the MLS stage is former Premier League legend, Thierry Henry.

After winning everything there was to win in Europe with Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal and Barcelona, the French striker signed for New York Red Bulls in July 2010, and went on to play for the club for the next four and a half seasons, reaching double-digit goals in each of his four full campaigns with the Bulls.

In total, he scored 51 goals and assisted 42 more in just 122 regular-season appearances for the club. He also featured in 13 postseason matches, scoring once whilst adding seven assists to his tally. The numbers really do speak for themselves, which is really saying something because the standard of his play was breathtaking, even at this late stage of his career.

Henry has continued his affiliation after his retirement, going on to become the head coach of Montreal Impact ahead of the 2020 campaign. He is the greatest-ever Frenchman to play in MLS. Time will tell if he can replicate that success as a manager.
