Jonathan dos Santos: LA Galaxy, Central Midfielder, 78 rated: Overrated

In a list of mostly attack-minded players, it can be tough to switch gears and assess where Jonathan dos Santos fits into this rating mix. The Mexican international is not a player that will score and assist at the rate of a Lodeiro or Martinez, for instance, instead solidifying the midfield and linking the defense to the attack.

Nevertheless, the LA Galaxy are coming off a season in which the attack (mainly the now-departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic) was the only area that inspired confidence moving forward, and dos Santos does take some of that blame. MLS players Saphir Taider (Montreal Impact) and Darlington Nagbe (Columbus Crew) are only at 76 and 75 respectively.

Mexican international teammates such as the aforementioned Rodolfo Pizarro and Edson Alvarez are closer to par with him as well. A 76 rating more accurately suits dos Santos, not a 78 that thrusts him into the true elite range of MLS players.
