Carlos Vela – Los Angeles FC – 8.66/10

Unsurprisingly, the best player in this line-up was the best player in the league last season. Los Angeles FC’s Carlos Vela that takes the top spot in this team. The Mexican forward has averaged an 8.66/10 rating across the Black and Gold’s first two regular-season matches thanks to scoring in both.

He got the only goal of the game in their season-opener against Inter Miami, before scoring in the epic 3-3 encounter with Philadelphia Union on the second weekend. Expect Vela to keep rolling when the season gets back underway.

Alan Pulido – Sporting Kansas City – 8.18/10

One of the newest figures in MLS is Sporting Kansas City’s Alan Pulido, with the striker having signed for the club in the offseason from Chivas de Guadalajara in late December.

A forward with international experience, Pulido is exactly what SKC were after to complement the likes of Johnny Russell. And he has started with a bang thanks to two goals and an assist in the club’s first two games of the season.

The Mexican, who has five goals in 13 appearances for his country, was touted to be one of the signings of the season, and if he continues in this vein of form when the season restarts, that could well play out.

Maxi Urruti – Montreal Impact – 8.02/10

The final member of the MLS Best XI is Montreal Impact’s Maxi Urruti, who is the league’s top scorer following the opening two games of the season.

Montreal have scored four times this year, and he has had a hand in all four. He scored one and assisted the other as Montreal got the better of New England Revolution on the opening day, before scoring both of the Impact’s goals in a 2-2 draw with FC Dallas, one of his former club.
