1. Montreal Impact

I’ll be honest, I did not expect the Thierry Henry experiment to go well. And yet, two weeks into the MLS season, and three games into their CCL campaign, the early signs are very positive for the Montreal Impact indeed.

Henry has sured up the defence no end, implementing an excellent 3-5-2/3-4-3 shape, the club has already added Victor Wanyama to pair with Samuel Piette in one of the more formidable central midfield partnerships in the league, while the attacking players are beginning to fire, including Maxi Urruti who looks very sharp with three goals to his name already, more than anyone else in MLS.

There is obviously a long way to go, but the early signs suggest that Henry is improving the team, instilling a clear tactical approach, and working on particular elements of the game that will help the Impact throughout the season. And four points from their opening two games is not bad going either.

The Impact might just be for real, even after losing their best-ever player days before the season. Who would have thought it, eh?
