FC Dallas Vs Montreal Impact: Player ratings – Late heroics
By Daniel Garza
Montreal Impact
Clement Diop – 6
Much like his counterpart Gonzales, Clement Diop could do little to keep both of Dallas’ goals from going in. He was the more tested goalkeeper in this fixture and finished with three saves. His best moment came on Ferreira’s first half-chance, though it would have been a disappointing shot to concede.
Jake Waterman – 6
Jake Waterman did not have a bad match for the Impact. He was not their problem defensively late on, but he also failed to truly imprint himself on proceedings.
Rod Fanni – 6
The anchor of the backline, Rod Fanni, allowed Zdenek Ondrasek to win an uncontested header that resulted in the first goal for Dallas. On the positive side, he completed all of his passes and did not turn the ball over in the defensive third.
Luis Binks – 6

Another good performance from Luis Binks. The former Tottenham Hotspur player is proving he has what it takes to be a key player for the Impact this season.
Jorge Corrales – 7
Two good performances from Jorge Corrales in back-to-back matches is showing Thierry Henry that he can be relied on to be a consistent player in the midfield.
Saphir Taider – 6
The Impact’s Designated Player had a decent though not exactly spectacular performance. His cross set up the Impact’s first goal, but after that moment, very few chances came his way. Saphir Taider will be relied upon more due to the departure of Ignacio Piatti and, thus far, he has not proven that he necessarily has what it takes to step up.
Samuel Piette – 6
With the arrival of Victor Wanyama, Samuel Piette will have to continue to show Henry he belongs in the starting XI. Here, he worked hard, played neat and tidily, but was not a standout.
Zachary Brault-Guillard – 6
Zachary Brault-Guillard helped set up Urruti’s second goal of the match.
Maxi Urruti – 8
Against his old club, Maxi Urruti was in the right place at the right time on two occasions. Not many would have predicted the center-forward would have three goals through two games, but perhaps the great Thierry Henry is getting something out of a fellow striker.
Romell Quioto – 6
Romell Quioto had one of the highest passing accuracy percentages for FC Dallas at 85%. He also had just one shot, created no chances, and attempted just two dribbles. Tidy, yes, but not impactful.
Anthony Jackson-Hamel – 5
Not a whole lot of scoring chances for starting striker, Anthony Jackson-Hamel. It’s unclear if he will get the start in the Champions League fixture mid-week or whether Henry was utilizing some timely rotation.
Orji Okwonkwo – 6
An assist for Orji Okwonkwo was the highlight for him. He was one of the better players on the pitch for the Impact and will begin to push for starting minutes in future weeks.
Shamit Shome – 6
Shamit Shome entered late in the second half as he did last week against the New England Revolution. As such, it is difficult to provide him with a proper match rating.
Amar Sedjic – 5
A brief appearance for Amar Sedjic did not yield many opportunities for him to make a difference. Ths Impact spent most of the second-half stoppage time defending.
