Los Angeles FC vs. Philadelphia Union

The final match of the weekend pits two playoff sides from 2019 against each other. The Supporters’ Shield winners, Los Angeles FC, take on the Philadelphia Union, who made it to the Conference Semi-Finals for the first time in their MLS history.

Philadelphia travel to Banc of California Stadium on Sunday night off the back of a 2-0 loss to FC Dallas, a defeat which sees them sit at the bottom of the table coming into the second weekend of the campaign. Meanwhile, the record-breaking LAFC overcame a stubborn Inter Miami CF, with none but Carlos Vela scoring a brilliant chip.

Due to being in different conferences, the sides have played each other once a year since LAFC’s inception into the league in 2018. They have taken four points from their two contests thus far. But entering the 2020 season, both these teams were expected to be among the MLS elite, so it is quite something to get the best against the best this early in the season.

Philadelphia certainly have a point to prove after a poor defeat on the opening weekend, but LAFC are formidable at home. This is not one to miss.
