1. LAFC to go all the way?

When they play like this, Los Angeles FC might be the best team in the entire competition. Rarely has that been said about an MLS team, but with the talent they possess at almost every position, allied with a brilliant system that complements their ability so well, it might just be true.

Carlos Vela is the best player in the CCL, Diego Rossi and Brian Rodriguez are tremendous threats, while the central midfield trio of Mark-Anthony Kaye, Latif Blessing and Eduard Atuesta offer control and composure in possession and superb energy and combativeness when defending.

There are some weaknesses across the defence, it should be conceded, but Bob Bradley’s side are coming off the best season in MLS history, are playing like the best team in MLS history, and arguably just beat the favourites for the competition with a scintillating, suffocating performance.

LAFC now face Cruz Azul in the quarter-finals. It does not get much easier. But if they continue to play as they did here, they might just go all the way.
