Przemyslaw Frankowski did not have the best debut season last year. Arriving with a lot of hype, Chicago Fire fans were incredibly excited to see what the Polish international could do.

He didn’t do much. It wasn’t all his fault, of course, as he was playing under former manager Veljko Paunovic who constantly changed the formation and the way Chicago played. Frankowski was never able to settle, leading to an underwhelming campaign.
With Raphael Wicky now at the helm, and having gotten used to the idiosyncracies of MLS, there is reason to believe that Frankowski can bounce back. One of the fastest players the Fire has ever had, he can be a one-man counter-attack at times. He isn’t bad on the ball either and can whip in a superb cross into the area.
He will have even more space with the larger field dimensions at Soldier Field, which will only aid his speedy attacking approach, and with Aleksandar Katai now gone, the Pole might be the Fire’s primary offensive weapon in the early part of the season. Consequently, all this could lead to Frankowski potentially making it into the MLS All-Star team during the middle of the season.
