2. Joey DeZart

Joey DeZart, 21, was signed to a first-team contract with Orlando City. He was Orlando’s first pick of the second round of the MLS SuperDraft and looks set to have a bright future in the game.

DeZart spent four years with NCAA Division 1 side, Wake Forest University, racking up 65 appearances and scoring twice. DeZart, like Urso, is a more defensive-minded central midfielder but provides a terrific physical edge with his size and strength advantage.

The Jackson, N.J born DeZart has bags of pace and power and will cover a lot of ground in the heart of midfield for Orlando.

While it is surprising when any SuperDraft selection makes any meaningful headway in the first-team picture during their first year in senior football, DeZart has the physical make-up to flourish and will certainly learn a whole lot under Urso, an experienced veteran of the defensive midfield position.
