2020 Outlook

The Impact’s 2020 campaign will begin in the CONCACAF Champions League, having qualified for the continental tournament after their Canadian Championship title last year.

Montreal will face a two-legged tie against Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa, travelling for the away leg on February 19, before playing in Montreal a week later, just three days before the start of the MLS regular season.

New England Revolution will be their opponents for the home opener in the league on February 29, before a five-week road trip which will encompass four matches, as they play FC Dallas, Minnesota United, Orlando City and Philadelphia Union before their next home fixture.

The side’s first clash against Canadian opposition in the league will come in June, as they face both the Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC in a two-week run on the road, before facing the 2017 MLS Cup champions at State Saputo on August 22.

Montreal will have a home clash to finish the season, as they face last year’s basement side, FC Cincinnati, on Decision Day, October 4, with the hopes of reaching the post-season for the first time in four seasons.

Along with the league campaign, the Impact will also feature in Canadian Championship as the defending champions. They will go straight into the quarter-final stage of the competition and will face the winners of the qualifying round clash between HFX Wanderers and A.S. Blainville.
