6) Brian Nana-Sinkam – 22nd overall pick in 2017

Brian Nana-Sinkam is another player who never lived up the expectations which often come with being a round-one draft pick. After failing to make the final roster following the 2017 preseason, he signed for Seattle Sounders FC 2.

While with the reserve team in 2017, Nana-Sinka made 26 appearances and even scored three goals. However, the defender did not return for the following season.

5) Eriq Zavaleta – 10th overall pick in 2013

Eriq Zavaleta is the first player on our list who actually played for the Sounders’ first team. However, he only made five appearances as he was unable to leave his mark on the team.

Zavaleta was loaned out a couple of times while with the Sounders to the San Antonio Scorpios and Chivas USA respectively. He was eventually traded to Toronto in Jan. 2015, where he went on to enjoy considerably more success.
