8) Andrew Duran – 15th overall pick in 2012

At the time of drafting Andrew Duran, the late great Sigi Schmid had high hopes. In particular, Schmid was encouraged that the defender was a two-footed player whose versatility could help the backline.

Unfortunately for the player and club alike, Duran failed to make the grade in Seattle as he made no appearances for the first team. He was loaned out to the Atlanta Silverbacks of the NASL and eventually waived by the Sounders in April 2013.

7) Damion Lowe – 8th overall pick in 2014

Damion Lowe’s selection was notable due to a profile which included excellent athleticism and superior pace. However, his impact was underwhelming during his time in the Pacific Northwest.

Lowe made no competitive appearances for the senior team, although he did play 18 times for the then Seattle Sounders FC 2. The defender left for pastures new in 2017.
