Sporting KC: Top 10 Moments of the Decade
By Nathan Dunn
9. The Victory Project
Some things are much bigger than soccer. Sporting KC’s great work with local childhood cancer has been truly inspirational. As part of Sporting Club, The Victory Project has allowed kids fighting childhood cancer to receive experiences of a lifetime.
At each home game, Sporting KC invites a local childhood cancer patient to Children’s Mercy Park, where they receive a great experience at a game in the stadium’s Victory Suite, which includes pregame recognition and a chant from the KC Cauldron.
Sporting also does great work with many other organizations, which includes Children’s Mercy Hospital, where players visit with patients regularly. Graham Zusi learned of his 2019 MLS All-Star game selection with an emotional visit to the hospital.
