The LA Galaxy’s next star player, Efrain Alvarez, has once again displayed his enormous potential at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, scoring four goals for Mexico.

It has been a wonderful tournament for Efrain Alvarez at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The Los Angeles Galaxy player has turned in a very impressive performance for Mexico and has helped his country reach the final against Brazil. Through six matches, he has scored four goals for El Tri which include some beautiful goals.

Entering the tournament, Alvarez was regarded as one of Mexico’s top talents and he has shown he might just be their top player of the generation. It has not been an easy road to the final for Mexico and Alvarez has contributed to the success of the team.

His free-kick against the Netherlands in the semi-final was his best moment of the tournament thus far. The well-placed strike put on full display the potential the 17-year-old has. His penalty in the ensuing shootout was one of his few blemishes in the tournament, but will nonetheless, be a learning lesson.

Another standout moment was a fantastic individual effort against Italy to tie the match in the second fixture of the group stage. Although a late goal would leave Mexico reeling from a 2-1 defeat, Alvarez’s quality was evident for all to see.

Meanwhile, the LA Galaxy have to love what they have seen from their talented young star. He has represented the club very well. Additionally, Alvarez has to have attracted attention from bigger clubs around the world, which means top clubs may come knocking soon to try and sign him.

With recent Mexican stars such as Raul Jimenez and Hirving Lozano having success in Europe’s top leagues, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get signed by a top-tier club sometime in the near future. Expect, then, to see Alvarez in the starting line-up often for the LA Galaxy next season. It will be a big campaign for him as he may be looking at a summer or winter transfer next year.
